Dan Lynch

BIOGRAPHY

Dan is the founding partner of Lynch Thompson LLP.  Dan attended law school at Northwestern.  After spending a year practicing in his hometown of Denver, Colorado, he returned to Chicago and joined Jenner & Block, where he spent fourteen years as a member of the Litigation Department, and its Securities Litigation, Class Action Litigation and Insurance Coverage practice groups.  In 2003, Dan decided to venture out and form his own litigation practice.  That practice has grown into Lynch Thompson, LLP, where Dan was joined in 2015 by his former Jenner partner (and long-time friend) Jim Thompson.   In 2018, Amy Kanarowski, a long-time associate of the firm was elevated to partnership.

Dan’s practice draws on his extensive litigation experience to successfully find solutions to problems and positive outcomes for his clients.  Dan’s proficiency with both oral and written advocacy has helped him persuade judges, arbitrators, mediators and opposing parties and counsel to view issues and positions from his client’s perspective and ultimately help his clients achieve favorable results.  Dan particularly enjoys working with the Lynch Thompson team to develop creative strategies in all phases of litigation.

Dan’s practice spans numerous areas of litigation, in which he represents businesses, organizations and individuals.  Dan has served as lead trial counsel in jury trials tried to verdict in United States District Courts, civil and criminal courts in Illinois, as well as state courts in Colorado and Maryland.  Dan also has extensive experience in aviation law and has worked on multiple disputes involving aircraft sales and leasing. Additionally, Dan has also served as lead counsel at contested evidentiary hearings conducted in AAA and JAMS arbitrations in various venues across the country.  In additional to his extensive jury trial and bench trial experience, Dan has also litigated evidentiary hearings in numerous preliminary injunction proceedings and administrative matters.

Dan helps his wife in her charitable endeavors and supports scholarships at his high school alma mater Denver’s Regis Jesuit High School.
